Substitute Certificate

To obtain your substitute teaching certificate you will need to go to the DESE website at http://dese/mo.gov and apply for a substitute certificate.
Requirements for Ozark Schools

Substitute Teacher:
A minimum number of 90 college credit hours and a substitute certificate issued by DESE is required to substitute teach at Ozark Schools. Anyone having a Lifetime or current Missouri teaching certificate is qualified to substitute teach at Ozark Schools.
Student Teachers
Need to have a substitute certificate issued by DESE prior to beginning assignments with Ozark Schools..
Applications accepted year round for student teachers.
Childcare Teacher
High school diploma, GED, or two year experience in childcare.
Clerical Staff:
Clerical experience suggested but not required.
Nurse:
Substitute nurses must submit a copy of their RN license as well as a current CPR training certificate.
Custodian:
Custodial experience suggested, but not required.
All Substitutes:
All substitutes are required to have a FBI Fingerprint clearance less than one year old before being put on our substitute list.
All substitute are required to fill out the below paperwork and bring it to 302 N 4th Ave Ozark, MO between the hours of 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Substitute Handbook receipt form (last page of handbook)

Two forms of identification (social security card, driver's license, birth certificate, or current passport)
For substitute teachers & student teachers: Transcripts showing 90 college hours (copies are acceptable)
